Story behind the song

“Strange Denouement” is a brief reprise built from a fragment of “Strange Parade.” Only its opening thought returns, stripped of the larger chorus and allowed to settle into an orchestral aftermath. Rather than restating the earlier song, it serves as the album’s epilogue: the parade has passed, the mind has quieted, and the listener is left with the strange coexistence of beauty and sorrow.

Lyrics

Life is a strange parade Sweet poetry and shame
