Who is Brent Roberts?

Brent Roberts is an independent songwriter and producer whose music blends electronic atmosphere, intimate vocals, and literary storytelling.

His earliest songwriting credits were with the unsigned band Shivering Blondes, alongside songwriting partner J. Winston Rowe. After the band disbanded, Brent began recording as deepnine and released the 2001 album Flowers on the Dirt Road Home, exploring downtempo textures, reflective lyrics, and the emotional space between electronic music and singer-songwriter forms. "Heart of a Lion," a single from the album, received college radio chart attention.

Brent later released the solo album Paint the Evening Sky in 2007, featuring "Light in August," "Gone," and "Love's Remains." The album earned regional recognition, including a Washington Area Music Association Wammie nomination, while remaining an independent release.

After a long hiatus, Brent returns with Savannah Thinks of Rising, his first new single in 15 years. The current release cycle also includes 2026 reimagined versions of Paint the Evening Sky standouts and "Sleeping in Bohemia," a lost Shivering Blondes song co-written with Joe Rowe.

This new work uses AI-assisted production and vocal rendering based on Brent's own voice, not as a replacement for authorship, but as a way to revisit older songs and create new ones with contemporary tools. Brent remains the lyric writer, source artist, and final creative voice behind the project.
