Story behind the song

I wrote "Lydia's Song" as a wedding gift for a dear friend I met in the early 1990s. Although I played it for her at the time, I never felt I had finished the song in the way I had imagined, and for many years it remained one of those pieces I hoped to return to someday. While recording Silver Lining, I finally found the arrangement and emotional clarity the song had been searching for. Before releasing it, I shared the completed recording with Lydia for the first time in more than thirty years. Her response meant more to me than she probably realized. She simply said, "This is what the world needs now." After all these years, I can't think of a better blessing for the song.
