Love's Remains
Listen
Story behind the song
I wrote "Love's Remains" during a time when I was reflecting on the end of a relationship, but I soon realized the song was reaching further back into my own life. Memories of childhood, loss, and the experiences that quietly shape us all became woven into the lyric. At its heart, the song asks questions rather than offering answers. What do we do with grief and trauma? Where do the people, places, and moments we have loved go when they are no longer part of our daily lives? How do we carry those losses without allowing them to define us? Over time, I have come to believe that there is something within us that remains untouched by what we have suffered. However deeply life may wound us, there is still a place from which love can emerge again. For me, "Love's Remains" is about trusting that quiet spark—that what is deepest within us is never entirely lost, and that love can always find its way back into the light.
Lyrics
Where is the day That sunset hides Where's the hurt That stays inside Hiding somewhere Far from home Little boy alone Little boy alone I know that the end has come I know there's nowhere left to run But still my heart beats the same I still dream on of love's remains I know that the time is near The sky, it feels so crystal clear A tiny spark can fan the flames Light the sky with love's remains Here is a house That's blown away There's a tree That will not sway Hiding somewhere From the storm Little boy keeps warm Little boy keeps warm I know that the end has come I know there's nowhere left to run But still my heart beats the same I still dream on of love's remains I know that the time is near The sky, it feels so crystal clear A tiny spark can fan the flames Light the sky with love's remains I know that the end has come I know there's nowhere left to run But still my heart beats the same I still dream on of love's remains I know that the time is near The sky, it feels so crystal clear A tiny spark can fan the flames Light the sky with love's remains
